A major innovation based on proven principles in cardiac surgery.

Fundamental Features

  • Excellent hemodynamic properties
  • Arterial like compliance
  • Reduction of graft sclerosis
  • Kinking protection

Description

The Biocompound Graft® is a hybrid vascular prosthesis consisting of a highly flexible braided tubing made of stainless surgical steel and the patient's own vein. The surgeon makes the Biocompound Graft® during the operation with the braided tubing and the accompanying application set. The braided tubing is slipped over the entire length of the vein and fits evenly over the irregular shape of the vein wall. The composite, consisting of braided tubing and vein wall, is constructed using fibrin adhesive.
The Biocompound Graft® has a consistency comparable to native arteries.

On the basis of known cases, even proven bacterial infection of the Biocompound Graft® can be completely cured and made recurrence-free with local surgical measures and antibiotic treatment.
